Inspiration

Our video is from the alternative rock genre, so when searching for inspiration we looked through videos from bands like Coldplay and Oasis. We also looked at some other shots that have stuck in our heads when we have seen the videos before, here is what we found...

This shot comes from the video 'Love Kicks' by Example, this type of shot is used throughout. The reason I like these shots because they allow you to show four events in one shot. Which is more effective than showing four different cuts very quickly.

This where we got the inspiration for the tunnel idea that we are going to use, its from Coldplay's video 'Fix You'. This was filmed near The Reebok Stadium in Bolton. Our tunnel will be Leake Street, and this is where the chorus of our video will be shot.

This is the establishing shot from Coldplays Every teardrop is a waterfall. This shot sets the scene and the time of day. This gives the audience clarity at the start of the video. In our video we are going to establish the scene by showing an empty shot of Leake Street. This will then be used as a base to film the rest of our video and we will cut to it during the chorus.

This is a shot of Noel Gallagher who is the artist of our song busking, this gave us the idea to have our character in an underpass busking. Although Noel is in a doorway we feel that this shot would be just as effective in Leake Street.

Copyright Permission Letter

Adam filled in a copyright permission letter to send to the record company who own the rights to our song. This is very important because if we do not receive permission we can not use the song 'AKA ...What A Life'. The record label is called 'Sour Mash Records' Adam could not find an email address so he printed off the letter and sent it. If we do not get the required permission we will have to start the process again and pick a new song.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - AKA... What A Life!

Here is the video that has just been released by Noel Gallagher. The video stars Russel Brand, and is part of the whole story that Noel is telling in his album High Flying Birds. Its 8.14 in length our video will be alot shorter than this, the ideas we have for our video is completley different to the ideas of Noel Gallagher and his record label. As a group we believe that the difference in ideas is a good thing, our video will be unique, if the ideas that Noel Gallagher had were the same to ours then we may have had to scrap the song and choose another meaning all of our planning would have gone to waste.

Noel Gallagher releases 'What A Life' video

Adam was looking on the sun online when he found an article about our main artist Noel Gallagher so he clicked on it.

It turns out that Noel Gallagher is going to release a video for his new record AKA What a Life. Its going to be filmed in California, Arizona and New Mexico, and is going to star Russell Brand.

This could make it harder for us as people will compare our video with the professional video, and it may make it difficult to develop for us to use all of our own ideas. On the other hand it could give us some very good ideas, from the description and the location given by the sun it appears that oour idea is different to Noels and they will be shot in different locations.
